Far and wide

The Royal Flemish Philharmonic made its first tour abroad in 1962, with concerts in the Netherlands and Germany, and has since been a guest of some major foreign concert halls: the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Festspielhaus in Salzburg, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Suntory Hall and the Bunka Kaikan Hall in Tokyo, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Philharmonie of Cologne and Munich, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt and the Palace of Art in Budapest.

In 2008 the orchestra became the first Belgian orchestra to be invited to China, with concerts in the National Grand Theatre of Peking and the Oriental Art Center of Shanghai. International concert tours through various European countries and Japan are a constant item on the yearly calendar.
